To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Turkey, the "China-Turkey 50th Anniversary Economic and Trade Cultural Development Forum" sponsored by the Turkey-China Business Development and Support Association and the General Chamber of Commerce of Chinese Enterprises in Turkey was held on August 5 in Istanbul, Turkey. The forum is divided into Online and offline two parts. President Erdogan of Turkey sent a congratulatory message to this forum. Vice Minister Ren Hongbin of the Ministry of Commerce of China, Vice Minister Zhang Xu of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism gave speeches in video format, Ambassador Liu Shaobin of China to Turkey, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yavuz Kolan of Turkey, Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism Ozgul Ozkan Yavuz attended the forum and delivered a speech. Turkey’s “Intermediate Corridor” plan and China’s “One Belt and One Road” initiative have the basis for convergence and cooperation, and the two sides have broad development prospects and cooperation space. The current global epidemic is still evolving, and the external environment has become more complex and severe. However, from January to June 2021, the bilateral trade volume between China and Turkey reached 16.07 billion US dollars, an increase of 50.7% year on year. The trade cooperation between the two sides has further expanded, indicating that the economy and trade between the two countries Cooperation shows strong resilience.
